Literature Text

I wore your pants to bed last night
Not out of nostalgia
But out of comfort.

And as I lay there
Cloaked by their grey linnen
I realized that I maybe I was lying
To myself.

I had pulled your pants from the hamper
In Nostalgia

We made promises.
Unpoken, true
But no less powerful.
Some we kept
Others were just not possible at the time
I hope to keep them to you,
Someday
Not because I think you care
But because
....surprise...
Of Nostalgia.

Just because we do not speak
Does not mean I've forgotten
Not in the least
For I can never forget.
Like a big grey elephant
Grey pants
yours.

Nostalgia.
Just a little inspiration from lying in bed late last night.

Hmm...I'm not too sure I like this one as much as I love your other ones. THis one seems less polished, not up to Nelle's usual beautiful standard! Some of the imagery is beautiful, but some of it is left unexplored and that's a little unsatisfying. In some ways, this poem has two levels to it, the person has two sides to her, the person on the surface, and the person inside. I think the poem could benefit from a highlighting of this, perhaps a little fiddling of structure, like putting some of it in italics or brackets. For example:

'Just because we do not speak
Does not mean I've forgotten
Not in the least
For I can never forget.'

Sorry If i seem very annoying and you just want me to shut up! Tell me so and I shall. i still think this is a good poem, just in need of a little tuning....

 *don't hate me!!*
